Shen's Hall was originally named Jingye Hall, and was renamed Songmao Hall at the end of the Qing Dynasty. It was constructed by Shen Benren, the descendant of Shen Wansan in the 7th year of Qianlong Period in the Qing Dynasty (1742). After his father passed away, Shen Benren restrained his previous profligacy and worked diligently to expand his family’s wealth including constructing the magnificent Shen's Hall.
